Grandma's Sugar Cup

At least that's how I thought of it....

I can remember watching her measure sugar with a cup like this so many times for Sweet Tea, Lemon Meringue Pies and Pear or Peach Cobblers.

She was the best cook, a great nurse, once caught a 25 lb catfish out of the pond, and so much more...

I wish my kids could have known her.

I'd love it if you would share some of your memories, too.

I don't think she even owned a proper set of "measuring cups".
Even so, I've never eaten a Lemon Meringue Pie that even came close to rivaling hers!

I am the proud recipient of Grandma's sugar bowl. It's about the size of a cup, but with a lid. The sugar was normally stained with coffee, so some sugar was white and some was more caramel in appearance. Grandma's cracked sugar bowl has a nice place of prominence in the corner china cabinet.

I have a few other kitchen pieces that were Grandma's. :)

My Mom still has this cup. Someone somewhere has the yellow and green ones that I remember better than this red one. Hope they are appreciated.

Sounds like you have a real treasure! :D
