My first package was a lovely large box from

I'm planning on planting ALL these lovely sunflower seeds. The small packets are special varieties of sunflowers. If you haven't guessed Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. (Queen Anne's Lace is the other.) FUN FUN FUN!!!

I am determined to finish a WIP (work in progress) this weekend. I started this project in November (ducking in shame!) and really need to finish it. It is going to be (already is!) a coffee table. It is on 3/4 inch birch plywood and sitting on a metal frame. I'll snap a shot of the table when it is finished.Tell me what you think...
This is really just the underpainting. I've got a lot to do to finish it.

I love Sunflowers. We have some of the old variety that are native to this area that are invasive, but hubby is only allowed to use roundup to keep them under control. We had a wedding for a friend out back about 7 years ago with a light sprinkle, while we stood inbetween the looming banana plants and the 6 - 9 foot sunflowers. It was nice. Definitely take a few shots of your sunflowers when all are in bloom. :) Love the table to be. :)
6-9 ft sunflowers? Invasive? do they have lots of 3-4" blooms on each plant? If so, they aren't sunflowers, but Jerusalem artichokes, and the roots are edible. I've not tried them, but plan to try a recipe this weekend with them. I've got a lovely patch in my backyard that came from my Grandmother's house.
I mean to say "The patch of flowers is lovely." Not the backyard. Although after the sunflowers and other wildflowers get going that may change!
