I guess one of my favorite groups of paintings are those from the Hudson River painters.
I love the magical look of the light in those paintings.
The light here in Southern Mississippi sometimes has similar qualities.

I imagine there must have been more than a few folks irritated with me this morning
as I meandered around trying to find a spot to take THE picture.
Needless to say, I didn't find IT.

These will have to do.
Bear in mind that they don't do the morning light justice.

I really wish, though, that I could have found a decent shot of the trees
as a palette of greens against the storm clouds to the West.

Had to include this shot of the back of an 18-wheeler!
Doncha just love it!

I do the same thing. I can't tell you how many storm clouds or sunrises or sunsets I have chased. I'm always looking for my next perfect shot.

There is no better light to me than that just before or just after a storm. Colors become electrified - especially greens (my fave colors!)

I'm pretty lucky I guess. I drive to work facing the sunrise in the morning and home facing the sunset in the evening.

Nice pics..and I know what you mean about chasing sunsets. Used to do a lot of that when I lived on the West coast of scotland.

I love the pictures! We drove to Jackson on Thursday - more than once I said "Look at how pretty the trees are!"
