The Forest Calls 1.17.11

Even on a dreary winter day like today there is something about the feeling of the forest that calls to me. Something about the sounds, colors, even the smells that fit just right.

I made several monotypes in this vein and may continue with more soon.

9.29.10

I've been playing with my camera a bit again...

I would love any information on this first photo. I have scoured the internet to no avail! HA!

This striking smokestack/chimney sits about 15 feet to the West of Hwy 61 North of Vicksburg, South of Redwood, in an area noted on the map as Blakely, Mississippi.

Less than 15 feet to the West of the smokestack is a railroad that apparently belongs to the Vicksburg Southern Railroad Co.

There are no Historical markers, or any other indications of what this might have been. It is the only structure there.

Also in our ramblings included a trip to Windsor Ruins.
I love this place. It is absolutely striking.
I hope you enjoy my photos.

This is a test print for the linocut I worked on this weekend.
This is #3 in a series of linocuts of Brookhaven, Mississippi landmarks.
Each plate in the series will measure 2 inches x 2 5/8ths inches.
